MA(Cantab) BMBS MRCOG MD
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, focusing on menopause care, and minimal access surgery for both endometriosis & benign gynaecological conditions. In my role at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital I am the specialty lead for both the menopause and endometriosis service as well the deputy lead for clinical governance. My work in menopause care is complimented by my roles within the British Menopause Society as both a medical advisory council member and an associate editor for the Post Reproductive Health journal.
I trained in the East of England and completed advanced training in menopause care, as well as advanced laparoscopic training for the management of complex benign conditions such as endometriosis. During my training, I completed a research based Medical Doctorate, which evaluated a novel medical therapy for endometriosis. This interest in research has continued into my current role; I am actively involved in several studies into endometriosis, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and the impact of the menopause on long term health outcomes.
I can offer consultation and advice on various aspects of reproductive endocrinology, including premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), peri-menopause symptom control and menopause care. I am happy to support you with both hormonal (hormone replacement therapy, HRT) and non-hormonal treatment options, as well as lifestyle management strategies to maximise your health and well-being during the menopause transition. My practice covers:
- Menopause care
- HRT
- Peri-menopausal symptom control
- Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (DUB) around the menopause and on HRT
- Post-menopausal bleeding (PMB)
- Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI)
- Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)
- Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)
Outside work my wife and I enjoy cooking together as well as cycling & swimming to keep fit. We are hoping to explore the sport of swim-running in 2023.
